Tunisian Post Launches Free e-Dinar Wallet to Boost Financial Inclusion

In a significant move to advance the nation’s digital economy, the Tunisian Post announced on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the launch of a new digital wallet, the e-Dinar Wallet, available free of charge to all citizens. This initiative aims to accelerate financial inclusion across Tunisia by simplifying access to digital payments for daily transactions. The wallet is designed for widespread accessibility, available for activation at all post office locations and through the D17 mobile application, positioning it as a key tool in North Africa’s evolving fintech landscape.

A Comprehensive Suite of Digital Financial Services

The e-Dinar Wallet integrates a wide array of essential services into a single, user-friendly platform. Users can perform instant and classic money transfers, including sending money orders directly from their mobile devices. The wallet facilitates the convenient payment of recurring bills for utilities like electricity and water, as well as internet and telephone services. A key feature is the ability to make cardless cash withdrawals at Tunisian Post ATMs, enhancing convenience and security. Furthermore, the wallet enables seamless payments at merchants affiliated with the D17 network and simplifies the settlement of various administrative fees, such as vehicle inspections. It also integrates with Ministry of Education platforms to handle payments for school and university registrations, meals, and examination fees.

This versatile digital tool is set to transform how Tunisians manage their finances by consolidating numerous services into one accessible platform. By offering a practical alternative to traditional banking and cash transactions, the e-Dinar Wallet aims to reduce reliance on physical branches and long queues. The initiative by La Poste Tunisienne marks a pivotal step toward generalizing digital payment usage and fostering a more inclusive and efficient financial ecosystem for every citizen.
