Safaricom Hook Circle Empowers Over 3,000 Youth with Future-Ready Skills

Safaricom’s dedicated youth platform, Safaricom Hook Circle, has significantly advanced its mission of empowering young Kenyans, recently engaging over 3,000 individuals through a specialized Automobile Engineering Masterclass. Hosted at the Nyeri National Polytechnic, this practical training initiative provided valuable, real-world skills and critical exposure to career pathways, marking a substantial step in addressing youth unemployment and skill gaps in the country.

Expanding Reach and Collaborative Impact

Beyond the impressive physical turnout, the masterclass extended its influence to an astounding 500,000 additional participants who accessed the mentorship forums via digital channels. These sessions were meticulously crafted to equip youth with future-ready capabilities and connect them with tangible opportunities. Fawzia Ali Kimanthi, Safaricom’s Chief Consumer Business Officer, articulated the profound vision behind the initiative: “The Safaricom Hook Circle is about turning ambition into action. We are bringing opportunities closer to the youth whether in technology, financial services, the creative economy, or career development because we believe every young person in Kenya deserves access to the skills and support that will help them thrive in a rapidly changing world.” This impactful Automobile Engineering Masterclass was a collaborative effort, delivered in partnership with Safaricom’s Fleet team, Advanced Mobility, and Total Energies, ensuring participants benefited from expert-led, guided mentorship in the automotive sector.

The Safaricom Hook Circle continues to play a vital role in nurturing the potential of young people across Kenya. By focusing on practical education and industry partnerships, Safaricom is actively building a more skilled and adaptable workforce, ready to contribute to Kenya’s burgeoning economy and navigate the complexities of a dynamic global landscape. This commitment to youth empowerment through strategic skill development underscores Safaricom’s dedication to fostering a brighter future for the nation’s next generation.
