Huawei Job Fair Empowers Kenyan Youth with Tech Opportunities
The University of Nairobi recently hosted the Huawei LEAP Job Fair, a significant event aimed at connecting Kenyan youth with employment opportunities in the technology and related sectors. The job fair, co-organized by the Kenya-China Economic and Trade Association (KCETA) and the University of Nairobi, provided over 1,700 job openings for Kenyan youth. The presence of over 60 Chinese and Kenyan enterprises at the event demonstrated the commitment to expanding employment prospects. Yu Xiaodong, President of KCETA and General Manager of China Road and Bridge Corporation (Kenya), underscored the evolving nature of the China-Kenya partnership. Furthermore, Huawei’s commitment to skills development is evident in its collaborations with over 50 universities and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions through its ICT Academies, creating a strong foundation for future tech professionals in Kenya.
