UNICEF Startup Lab Accelerates 25 Social Impact Ventures in Ghana for 2025

The UNICEF Startup Lab in Ghana has officially welcomed 25 innovative, tech-enabled startups into its 2025 cohort, marking the program’s fifth year of fostering social impact ventures. These promising startups are focused on tackling pressing issues facing children, adolescents, and communities across Ghana, addressing critical needs in sectors such as education, healthcare, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), climate action, financial inclusion, and employment opportunities for youth.

Driving Innovation for Ghana’s Future

The launch of Cohort 5 underscores the dedication of young Ghanaian entrepreneurs to developing impactful and practical solutions to the country’s developmental challenges. Through innovative technologies and business models, these startups are poised to make a significant difference in their respective fields. The UNICEF Startup Lab accelerator program, established in 2019, is implemented in partnership with MEST Africa and receives crucial support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) under the “KOICA-UNICEF Accelerating Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Ghana” project.

Over the next six months, these 25 startups will benefit from intensive mentorship and guidance. They will collaborate with UNICEF technical specialists and industry experts to enhance their products and services, strengthen their business strategies, and ultimately scale their impact across Ghana. This collaborative approach ensures that these ventures are well-equipped to address the unique challenges and opportunities within the Ghanaian context.
