Algiers Stock Exchange Prepares New System for Corporate Financial Disclosure
The Commission for the Organization and Oversight of Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB) is developing a new system to modernize the financial disclosure mechanisms for companies listed on the Algiers Stock Exchange. This initiative aims to align the Algerian financial market with leading international standards and best practices, according to COSOB President Youcef Bouzenada.
Modernizing Financial Reporting in Algeria
Bouzenada made the announcement during the opening of a COSOB conference in Algiers focused on the regulatory framework for venture capital investment funds (OPCR). The event was attended by key Algerian government officials, including the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzred, the Minister of the Economy of Knowledge, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, and the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CNESE), Mohamed Boukhari. Bouzenada emphasized that COSOB is actively working on establishing this new system to modernize financial disclosure.
The development of this new system signifies Algeria’s commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability within its financial markets. By aligning with international standards, the Algiers Stock Exchange aims to attract greater investment and foster a more robust and reliable economic environment. This modernization effort could be particularly beneficial for Algerian start-ups and micro-enterprises seeking capital through venture capital investment funds.
