This effectively means d.light now possesses almost $1 billion in financial backing, specifically allocated to facilitate the purchase of solar products for off-grid communities in countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Nigeria. The company’s PayGo model, where consumers make small weekly payments, opens up access to solar home systems for families with limited income. With an estimated 10 million people to be reached in the coming two years, d.light’s “Brighter Life by d.light” (BLd) initiative exemplifies a practical solution to bridge the energy gap.
