Agriculture Minister Youcef Cherfa has expressed optimism about the upcoming harvest season, projecting 2025 as a banner year for cereal production in Algeria. During a recent visit to Tébessa, a key agricultural region, Minister Cherfa highlighted the expectation of an abundant yield across various cereal varieties nationwide. Tébessa alone is projected to produce over 1.3 million quintals of durum wheat, soft wheat, and barley. This anticipated increase is attributed to the combined efforts of agricultural stakeholders and the government’s commitment to stabilizing seed and fertilizer prices, making essential resources more accessible to farmers.
