MTN Group’s Service Revenue Surges to N13.5 Trillion in First Nine Months of 2025
MTN Group, a prominent player in the African telecommunications landscape, has announced impressive financial results for the first nine months of 2025. The company’s service revenue reached a staggering R160.3 billion, which translates to approximately N13.5 trillion. This represents a significant 25.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase, highlighting the company’s strong growth trajectory and dominance in its key markets across Africa and the Middle East.
Strong Performance Driven by Key Markets
The remarkable revenue surge was primarily fueled by robust performance in MTN’s major markets, particularly Nigeria and Ghana. The financial report released by MTN Group on Monday noted a return to positive retained income and net equity position within Nigeria, a significant achievement for the company. This positive shift has allowed the telecom giant to resume dividend payments, with an interim declaration made during the reporting period. Furthermore, the Group’s subscriber base continued to expand, reaching over 300 million customers last month. By the end of September 2025, the total subscriber count across MTN’s 16 markets (spanning Africa and the Middle East) reached 301.279 million. Nigeria remains the single largest market, contributing a substantial 28.4% share, with 85.4 million subscribers.
In his remarks regarding the report, Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita offered further insight.
