Air Algérie: Exclusive Images Reveal Second A330neo in Production at Airbus
Exciting new images have emerged from the Airbus assembly facility in Toulouse, France, offering a first look at Air Algérie’s second Airbus A330neo. Shared on social media by the specialized aviation page Algerian Spotter, the photos capture the wide-body jet in an advanced stage of production. The aircraft is already adorned with the airline’s signature red and white livery on its tail and wings, making it unmistakably part of the Algerian flag carrier’s future fleet. While the main structural assembly appears well underway, the engines have not yet been mounted, a step typically performed later in the manufacturing process.
A Key Part of Fleet Modernization
This aircraft is a key component of a substantial order placed by Air Algérie in May 2023, aimed at overhauling its fleet. The landmark deal includes a total of 16 new aircraft: eight long-haul Airbus A330-900neos, seven Boeing 737-9 MAX jets, and a dedicated cargo freighter. This strategic acquisition is the cornerstone of the national airline’s modernization program, designed to enhance operational efficiency and passenger service. The introduction of these state-of-the-art planes will significantly strengthen Air Algérie’s capabilities and reinforce its role as a key player in African aviation.
Building on Recent Milestones
The assembly of this second aircraft follows the initial reveal of the first Air Algérie A330-900neo in March 2025. That plane, identified by the registration number 7T-VJD, was also photographed during its assembly in Toulouse. The steady progress on these new-generation aircraft signals a new era for the airline, positioning it for future growth with a modern, capable fleet. As this second A330neo moves closer to completion, the aviation community eagerly awaits further updates on its journey from the factory to its future home base in Algeria.
