PiggyVest Resolves Withdrawal Problems Via PocketApp Integration

Leading Nigerian savings and investment platform, PiggyVest, has announced the resolution of recent withdrawal issues that affected some users. The company attributed the problems to its previous reliance on third-party payment processors, particularly affecting withdrawals to Wema and Sterling Bank accounts. However, PiggyVest has implemented a solution through its mobile money operator, PocketApp, to address these challenges.

Direct Connection with NIBSS

Speaking at PiggyVest’s OpenHouse event in Ibadan, Ibukun Akinola, Director of Payments, explained that the integration with PocketApp now provides a direct connection to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS). This strategic partnership empowers PiggyVest to independently process customer withdrawals, eliminating the need for intermediaries like Flutterwave and Paystack. According to Akinola, this move provides greater control and efficiency in resolving withdrawal-related issues, which previously required navigating multiple external parties.

With the implementation of PocketApp for withdrawals, PiggyVest aims to deliver a more seamless and reliable experience for its users. This signifies a step towards greater autonomy and improved service delivery within the fintech landscape in Nigeria. By circumventing third-party dependencies, PiggyVest hopes to minimize future disruptions and provide a smoother withdrawal process for its growing customer base.
