Reverse mentoring means a father or a mother ask their son or daughter to mentor them by asking them directly.
“I’ve noticed that you know how to use the smartphone very well. Can you teach me this and that?”
I do that a lot with my son. He would do presentation for me, or an audience. Now he loves to make presentations by himself on topics that interest him.
That makes it easy for him to accept my unsolicited mentoring as parent.
Good bosses do the same.
They would ask a colleague to mentor or coach them on topics they wish to have better skills.
Reverse mentoring requires a bit of humility parents and bosses might lack when it comes to their kids or subordinates.
Try it, if your ego won’t get hurt too much.
