Obesity in Africa

There is a rapidly spreading disease in Togo affecting mostly adult males.

It’s called ‘malus pregnantus permanentus’ or adult males looking pregnant with protuberant belly, outwardly extended, but with no expected delivery date.

Fat, big belly, instead of being of matter of shame or malnutrition, is quite often seen as a sign of a good social standing for men, and a sex appeal.

There is a very popular song here by a female singer saying she prefers men with big belly, because that makes her more respected in society.

In the past, big belly was really limited to very few men, but now, relatively abundant food, specially in the south of Togo, had ignited an epidemic of big belly.

Low class men are also with big belly now. They intentionally grow big belly by drinking cold water or beer during lunch, or over eat fatty food.

I’m not doctor, but I wonder how these men succeed to have sex.

For sure they can’t see their sex unless they use a mirror.

Yes, they can’t see their feet too.
