For fools to learn, not to repeat

Biko, X, Chancellor Williams, Diop, Clark, Amos, Cabral, Nkrumah… Did not write their books and made their speeches just for us to repost on Facebook.

They wished to create blueprints for us.

We should use their ideas inside our organizations, in our daily life to make the change they wished for.

Like an African proverb put it“The wise create proverbs for fools to learn, not to repeat.”

We are too many to limit our militantism to posting smart quotes and excerpts online. That’s not enough.

We need to lay foundations, create institutions, build up on the previous, not always starting from scratch. Our children should not be found in the same humiliation as ourselves.

May the ancestors be with you!
